Most of the small gas engines on today’s market include a solid state ignition module positioned adjacent to the flywheel. Magnets, which interact with the module to produce electrical current, are the only moving parts in the ignition system.

By far, if today’s ignition modules fail, they are not meant to be repaired. Ignition module is meant to be replaced as a system and replacing it is the easiest solution to your engine problem.

Before replacing a failing ignition module, make sure to test the ignition with a spark or ignition tester. Check for faulty electrical switches that could possibly be the source of the problem.
