Make sure that your lawn mower blade is in best shape possible and that it is tightly secured to your lawn mower. If your lawn mower blade is broken or bent you need to replace it. If your blade is dull, you have the choice of either sharpening it or replacing it with a new one.

You also need to inspect the lawn mower wheels and ensure that all four wheels are set at the correct height. The two front wheels should be set at the height corresponding to each other. The two rear wheels should be set at the height identical to each other.

For best results in cutting your lawn with your John Deere lawn mower, it is advisable so set the rear wheels a little bit higher than the front wheels.
